A writer for Comedy
Central's Indecision2008 and winner of
the Bill
Hicks Spirit Award for Thought Provoking Comedy,
Jeff Kreisler has his own critically-acclaimed political comedy
tour (Comedy
Against Evil), syndicated business humor
column and video (Funny
Money), and a sweet book deal with Harper Collins to
write the satire Get Rich Cheating. He recently performed
with the major US Presidential candidates, is in the staff and cast
of the new show from the creator of The Daily Show
(Shoot
The Messenger), is Executive Editor of My Wall Street Journal (with writers from The Onion, The Daily Show, Monty Python, and The New Yorker) is co-author and star of the highly-praised comedy play/live sitcom "The Americans," and had smash-hit shows at the Edinburgh
Fringe and Glasgow
International Comedy Festivals. He went to
Princeton, Exeter, and Virginia Law School, has performed on TV
and radio networks, was an all-league football player, taught English
in Russia, started a non-profit dedicated to at-risk youth, plays
mediocre blues on the alto sax, lives in New York City, misses San
Francisco, Boston, and D.C., and, most of all, loves asparagus.
"Jeff Kreisler is a heavy hitter - he has won the Bill Hicks Spirit Award and looks like George Clooney, but sweatier. His hour holds some of the smartest political material around. One of the things that makes Kreisler fascinating is his unashamed love for America; he just hates what has been done to it. The final section, involving Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney and Rohypnol may be the most powerful description of the past few years of US history you'll hear... political sharp-shooting..." - Kate Copstick, The Scotsman
"A highlight." - The New York Times
"With the excitement of an impending presidential election, it's a great time to see an American political comic, and you'll struggle to find better than Jeff Kreisler. With slick and witty poise he mixes wry observation on current affairs with quirky bouts of surrealism." - Three Weeks
"A welcome reminder of a time when comedy cut
a lot closer to the issues of the day than most comics now dare."
- Dallas Morning News
"Kreisler tore into politics, race and religion
in a similar style to Hicks, but with his own personal slant and
some very acute and funny observations. This is one show that will
have you laughing from start to finish and is probably one of the
best comedy shows at the Fringe..." - Fresh Air at the Festival
"Dark eyes that promise all manner of chaos...
Kreisler changes the pace a bit with a slightly demented, extremely
animated set that attacks everything..." - San Francisco Chronicle
"His comedy is fluent and accomplished, delivered with energy and enthusiasm" - Fest Mag
"Kreisler's comedy style had a wonderful, dark theatrical approach" - Theater2k.com
"Great stuff. Very funny. I wrote some of that down to use..." - United States Senator Tom Harken
